Ken Robinson says schools kill creativity | Video on TED.com
I found this video most fitting for my argument the importance of the arts within education. It is really interesting and highlights some extremely useful points for my inquiry. In particular the hierarchical structure of subjects in education. It is a moving case for creating an education system that nurtures rather than undermines creativity.
This is a great video Verity, it really got me thinking. I to am looking into the importance of dance in education, and the point he made of the arts being at the bottom of the list rings so true, why do we not have lessons in the arts everyday like we do maths?
ReplyDeleteHe also mentioned a point' we are educating children for a future we no nothing about' We don't know what will be in the future and in peticular everyones future is different, we should be educating to develop individual creativity with an open spectrum for the future. A really great watch thank you.
